Stella.

I keep going back and forth with deciding if I want to go into the photography business or not. I absolutely LOVE taking pictures for other people, but at the same time, there is SO much that actually goes on "behind the scenes" with owning your own business. I'm just not sure I'm ready for all that. But, while I make up my mind (it may never happen, really) I am really enjoying building my photography skills and practicing editing (which I also really love). My sweet friend Jenny asked me if I would take some pictures of her darling daughter, and one of Kennedy's favorite friends, Stella. Here are a few highlights.

Thankful Thursday

My lovely, thoughtful mother started posting each Thursday what she is thankful for and I'm picking it up, too. This morning the girls and I were on our morning job and I was thinking about all the things I am thankful for. WOW!!! there are SO many. But as we are strolling along, we were listening to music on my phone and the girls are happily munching on goldfish crackers, my favorite song came on.

Listen to the full song here.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18lZDVZ1QuE

Here is my absolute favorite line from the song:

"You stood in my place, taking my shame, upon your shoulders."

So this thankful Thursday I am thankful that I have a Savior that stood and continues to stand in my place taking my shame.

DIY

This weekend was VERY productive. A friend of mine posted a picture on Facebook of her newly painted kitchen wall and gorgeous blue pantry door and it INSPIRED me to paint a little bit in our house. I am really excited to start putting our touch on this house. SO- we painted the craft room/man cave. There has been a debate about what this room will be since we moved in... I say craft room, John says man cave. I put my stamp on it first, so I'm calling it the craft room. I think eventually I will share it with him, but until he is ready to get some recliners and another big ole television (because 3 isn't enough??) it shall remain the craft room. Here is a picture of John taping off the craft room and the newly striped wall. (he taped, I painted).

THEN! I loved it so much, we did it in our downstairs family room, too! :)

And since we were on a DIY roll, I re-upholstered our dining room chairs. These were given to us (hello, FREE) but they were in need of TLC when we got them. Well, this gorgy chevron pattern is JUST what they needed! (a little before & after- only opposite).

So that's what we did this weekend! I am on the hunt for nautical/beachy type decor now for our family room! LOVE!
